Anant Nikam was born in 1962 in Ambajogai, India. He completed his art education from Govt School of Art, Aurangabad in 1982.
He has exhibited in many solo and select group shows throughout India and abroad. Amongst others he has participated at the “Indian Printmakers” show organized by the Scottish Academy of Asian Art at Intermedia Gallery, Finge Gallery, Glasgow, the Seoul National Museum in South Korea and the 10th Triennale Mondiale De L’Estampe, Charmalieres in France.
He has been awarded for his work by the Maharashtra State Art Exhibition, the Bharat Bhavan International Biennial of Print, Bhopal, the Bharat Bhavan Biennial of Contemporary Indian Art, Bhopal and the Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi etc.
He has conducted and participated in camps and workshops like Dr.Krishna Reddy’s Print Making Workshop and also been part of link exchange programmes like between the Glasgow Print Studio and Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai.
He has been a faculty member of Sir JJ School Of Art Mumbai from 1986 to 2020.
Presently he is working as freelance artist in Mumbai.
