My art to me stands as a daily witness to the world. What I see and feel, I draw. Â
As we find ourselves in this strange new world, my need to document everything that I see and feel is more urgent than ever.Â
I am not a trained artist, but my practise is my training. Colours, textures and lines guide me.Â
My work ends up covering a range of styles and themes. In some pieces I am trying to learn different skills and experiment with simplifying and minimizing. But most of it happens on its own as my relationship with colours and how I understand nature deepens.Â
I try and cultivate an honest naivety and wonder in the face of the world, and its different trials and frustrations, desires and pleasures. I also attempt to wage a war on bullshit, cliche and pretension. Simplicity, economy of form and emotional honesty is what I am aiming for: the triumph of heart over the head.
