Azra Bhagat, an artist and writer living and working in Mumbai, India; like many creative people has a hybrid practice – she is a writer, an art director, filmmaker and an essayist and she is also preoccupied with cultural theory. Since graduating with a BA (Hons) from London College of Communication in 2013 she has been pursing a creative career. From Advertising story boards to installations, sculpture, copywriting and even getting her articles published in Art India she has developed many diverse skill sets. While in university Azra was part of and curated her graduate exhibition Ê»Modern Thoughtsʼ and her project ‘Inside Out’ was featured in the magazine ‘Watch me pivot’ p. 15- 17. Her advertising concept for the brand CRY won a Kyoorius Design Award in 2016. In 2017 Azra studied Art History at the Bhau Daji Lad Museum. She also began writing critically about art on www.theoddonesite.wordpress.com/ and self-publishing her poetry and short stories on an app called Juggernaut. She completed the Young India Fellowship Program 2018-19 at Ashoka University in Sonipat and went back to the Bhau Daji Lad Museum where she worked on research for their publication of a book. Azra then went to Whistling Woods International where she completed a Masters program in Filmmaking with an emphasis on Screenwriting.
