Born in a small village in Kolhapur district in Maharashtra, it wasn’t easy for Sagar to choose Fine Arts education over Science. Sagar met many professional and eminent artists from across India during his academic years. Conversation and guidance from them helped him a lot to understand his roots and process of his work, says Sagar. He represents in his works, the culture and life of the society from his native place. Most subjects of his drawings are predominantly related to the problems faced by the women and farmers in his village and neighbouring regions. Sagar was presented in the Bhushan International Art Fair, held in South Korea in 2017. Apart from this he has received several awards by various art organizations across India, including from the Bombay Art Society, Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation, Art Society of India, Southcentral zone, All India Fine Art & Craft Society New Delhi. In the year 2019 he was honoured by an award from the Government of Maharashtra.
