Artists

We believe that knowledge shared is knowledge gained. We believe in the wonder of igniting curiosity, nurturing ideas, cultivating attitudes and fostering change. It began as an interaction with a global art community in 2010 with the conceptualization of the Public Art Program at Mumbai International Airport, Terminal II. Conceived as a seamless art experience going all around the airport’s spine through all floors, the program dealt with liminal spaces creating the New museum of the 21st century. With more than 7000 artefacts procured from around the country, hundreds of traditional artists worked with contemporary artists around the world to create a New Gateway to India.

Crossing the threshold between disciplines of art-architecture, nature-culture, science-ecology, contemporary-traditional, skilled-unskilled, and local-global community, Thotpot has developed as a collaborative platform for incubating ideas.

Comprising of an enthusiastic team of young professionals infusing itself with the experience of an extended resource, this network initiates processes, products, projects and programs for experiential and participatory design.
Our experience includes a diverse range of works from research & documentation, community engagement through public art, urban design guidelines, master planning for heritage-based development, training programs for new livelihoods and design for contemporary lifestyles.

The key strength of our work lies in its collaborative nature with multi-disciplinary teams and interpretation of traditional architecture within different contexts through restoration, reuse, design and community-based processes.
